Our Youth & Children

Sometime between 2007 and 2008, our small church started to see our congregation’s numbers quickly increase with many children! Our church is blessed with numerous young families who have chosen to raise their children in the House of the Lord. It was evident there was a need to begin working with these children at an early age to show them how much their church supports them.

Around this same time, Sis. Ragan Philliber was completing her collegiate education with a degree in Elementary Education. With her knowledge and experience, she presented Bro. Budd and Bro. White with the idea to establish a Children’s Church program within our assembly. They both quickly agreed, and Sis. Ragan soon met with our first class in our church’s dining room. There were just a few students in this first class that metwith a small rotation of teachers every Sunday.

Since then, our church continued to grow and with the completion of our Family Life Center, we now hold Children’s Church between three classrooms. We now are split up between three age groups – ages 3-5, 6-8, and 9-11, with each class averaging around ten students. Our classes are held every Sunday after song service. We would love for you to visit and include your child in this ministry!

Bro. Clint and Sis. Tonya White help with this ministry, along with our class leaders – Sis. Ragan Philliber and Sis. Amber Jolley. We are blessed have a large group of volunteers who rotate as teachers.

Another function of our Children’s Church program is our Vacation Bible School that we hold every summer. VBS is very important to our church and we look forward to it every year. We place a heavy focus on the Holy Ghost and take this precious time to teach the importance of this wonderful gift. We’ve been blessed to witness many young people receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues every year during our VBS program.

Our assembly is blessed to recognize the importance of supporting our children from the start and to show them that their church loves them right from the beginning. Our goal is to make sure each child realizes their importance to us and their importance to God. We say this often – but the children are not only the church of tomorrow, around here – they’re the church of today!

Youth Ministers

Our mission is clear! To cultivate BALANCE in an unbalanced world, to provide STABILITY in an unstable society and to encourage PECULIARITY in a community crippled by identity.

BALANCE: I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. John 17:15
The youth of today must have guided exposure to the world to be equipped to successfully function in it. In keeping with the knowing that in order for you to persuade someone to do what you do, you must first compel them to want what you have! How shall we be a witness to the world if we are not in the world?

STABILITY: He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Psalm 40:2
Understanding that stability comes from the one true “ROCK” is key. Once we allow Him to establish our goings we are able to settle ourselves onto His foundation! The search for “who am I?” is then over! True happiness is when my will and God’s will are one in the same.

PECULIARITY: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9
In today’s society it seems there is more of a push to identify with something and it has created an identity crisis in our world; so, we want to embrace our identity as a Christian, a disciple of Christ, an ambassador of the gospel. While some may identify as NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, LGBTQ, UFC, WWE we identify as BOC; Body of Christ!
